Raka Taran

It is with great pride and excitement that we introduce to you the new owner and
director of Maple Tree Montessori!

Raka has received her Master’s Degree in History from the University of Himachal
Pradesh in India. Following this, she earned a Diploma in Montessori Teacher’s Training
from Illinois, and subsequently completed a Bachelor of Education Degree from the
Ontario College of Teachers in Canada at the University of Windsor. While in Canada,
she took a particular interest in the education of young children, compelling her to
complete a diploma in Early Childhood Education.

Raka has over 15 years of experience in teaching children. She started her career
teaching undergraduate students in India. In 1993, she moved with her family to the
United States. As a mother of a young boy and girl, she quickly became fascinated with
how the minds of young children work, and their immense potential for learning new
concepts. This fascination inspired her decision to begin a new career as an early
childhood educator. After completing her Montessori training in Illinois, she found a job
as a preschool teacher. She held that position for several years before moving to Canada,
where she taught at a Montessori school. Following this, she opened her own
Montessori learning center, which was in operation for five years.

Raka’s experience with working in different environments has allowed her to understand
and implement various teaching philosophies that have delivered excellent results.
Raka’s unique understanding of children over time has enabled her to develop a high
level of confidence in her teaching abilities, and has further reinforced her desire to
commit herself to this noble profession.

Raka is a strong believer in building relationships with students, staff and parents by
working together to develop a strong sense of community, as this only enhances the
child’s educational experiences!

Through a close and shared partnership with everyone associated with this Montessori,
she is confident our school will continue to be a successful environment for students to
learn and grow.

 

Miss Madeline - Infant/Toddler Teacher Miss Madeline has ten years experience in the child care field. She has been working at this center for six years and is excited to be a part of our expanding program. She has numerous trainings from the New Jersey First Steps program. Miss Madeline has received many certifications such as becoming an Infant/Toddler specialist for the Northern Region. She has two daughters whom attend the center and loves spending time with the children at Maple Tree. Miss Madeline is known for her caring charisma which adds to our team's successful traits.

Miss Carmen - Infant Teacher Miss Carmen has over five years experience working at our center. She has training specifically for the age group she works with everyday. She holds an Infant/Toddler Specialist certification for the Northern Region received by the New Jersey First steps program. She has one daughter who attends Maple Tree Montessori. Miss Carmen loves the Infant age group and has a warm personality that enhances our team's quality of service.

​ Miss Carolina- School Aged Teacher Miss Carolina is currently working with our school aged students. She has worked with all age groups and has many years experience working with children. She is new to our team and looking forward to growing with our center. Miss Carolina's compassionate heart is one of the characteristics that strengthens our center.
